Petar Petrov
Head of Health & Safety
Prior to Joining Gallowglass, Petar graduated as a professional teacher from the University of Plovdiv in his native Bulgaria, qualifying him to teach at all levels. Upon securing his SIA license he was quickly entrusted to leadership roles in some of our most demanding sites. Simultaneously this practical on the ground experience gave rise to his interest in health and safety and its practical application. He rapidly acquired an enviable range of NEBOSH qualifications in addition to qualifying as BSI lead auditor for the prestigious ISO 45001 accreditation in Occupational Health and Safety management Systems.
In his current role as Head of Health and Safety, Petar enjoys a diverse and wide ranging brief that includes ensuring that all our contracts are carried out in accordance with health and safety laws, so as to mitigate operational risk for ourselves and for the benefit of our clients, as well as the training of our staff to ensure health and safety compliance.
Petar takes great pride in offering clients with health and safety advice, training employees and assisting annually in securing Gallowglass Security’s ISO9001, ISO14001, ACS accreditations as well as being primarily responsible for the ongoing compliance with SAFE requirements.
His highly proactive approach and attention to detail was best exemplified at the height of the Covid crisis where he had a pivotal role in ensuring all Gallowglass Security staff, our clients and their stakeholders were kept safe and compliant with ours and the government’s COVID measures. Petar was instrumental in our work with the Mayor of London in helping to ensure that London’s homeless were able to be accommodated in London hotels safely, with the introduction of safe system of work measures while the pandemic was at a peak.
Petar said, “Health and Safety is hugely important to Gallowglass Security and our clients; therefore ensuring that we not only meet, but exceed the standards that govern the services we provide is vital to giving our client’s confidence. Looking after our client’s events, properties and ensuring all staff and stakeholders involved in our enforcement activities are undertaken safely, and within the law, is critical. As a result we undertake regular training of all our staff across our services and we work closely with you to mitigate against any potential health and safety incidents prior to any security service we undertake with you.”
