London’s iconic music and arts venue, the Roundhouse, is and has historically in its various incarnations, played host to all manner of eclectic and avant-garde performances from all elements on the artistic spectrum.

Whilst this continues to be the case, the focus of the Roundhouse changed, with its being accorded charitable status with the foundation of the Roundhouse Trust in 2000 under the leadership of Sir Torquil Norman CBE.

It has as its specific aim, of creating “Space to Create” for 11 and to 25 year olds. The focus is on assisting young people who are marginalised or disadvantaged by society, in order to help them on routes back into education, or to simply enjoy a wider appreciation of cultural life.

This is achieved via a number of pathways; notably in the form of from open access projects, to schools and community partnerships and career pathways and progression routes. To achieve these aims £2.8M needs to be raised annually.

The Roundhouse Gala “Time to Shine”, sponsored by Lavazza had a pivotal role to play in raising the finance needed to support its ongoing and laudable charitable endeavours.

This year saw a lineup of high profile “A” list guests in attendance and or performing, notably; Jeremy Clarkson, Ronnie Wood, Edith Bowman, Jamie Cullum, Eliza Doolittle, Rob Brydon, Kelly Jones and Sharleen Spitari. Owing to the superb organisation and the generosity of those attending, the event exceeded all expectations in the fundraising effort.

We were privileged to have been invited to support this flagship event, with event security provision for the Roundhouse. It was a real vindication of our efforts and the unique Gallowglass approach for us to be told afterwards thank you again for all your support with the Gala last week -  we were delighted with the manner and professionalism of Alex and the team, and our guests were well looked after!”
