Today it is the turn of Alex Lepadatu, to feature in our “Meet the Team” series. Alex enjoys a long and exemplary association with Gallowglass Security, having first placed himself on our radar as a potential security talent in a quasi-policing role 2006/7, in a contract awarded by Camden Town Unlimited.

Upon graduation from High School in Bucharest Romania, he enrolled at flying school in Bucharest with a view to acquiring his civil aviation commercial pilot’s license; however these plans were interrupted by a holiday to the UK in 1999. Following this visit, he became a self confessed and committed Anglophile, and quickly ended his studies in Bucharest and returned to the UK in 2000.

After having worked in a variety of jobs, he set up and ran his own pan European textile distribution service from 2003 to 2007. In this period also, he qualified and undertook part time work as a security guard before being introduced to Gallowglass in September 2006. The rest, as it is so frequently said, is history!

Working at the coal face, on all range of assignments, Alex quickly distinguished himself in event security with his energy, effectiveness and leadership potential, all delivered with his ebullient Latin charm.

This leadership potential was tested and the decision was quickly vindicated, with his being entrusted in leading all manner of Gallowglass Security assignments throughout the UK. In particular, he has forged an enviable reputation with the Roundhouse and its clients, having led security on the overwhelming majority of events hosted there in the corporate windows.

Having this immense range of experience, combined with an implicit understanding of the importance of the Gallowglass brand, we were delighted when he accepted an invitation to assume the post of the crewing and operations manager in early 2013.

In this vital role, and put very simplistically, he ensures that the correct blend of guards are delivered on the ground and that their skill set is commensurate with, and mirror the demands of any given assignment.

To date he has brought immense energy and a hugely impressive work ethic, that we believe will continue to service Gallowglass security well and help drive it forward. Civil aviation’s loss is most certainly Gallowglass Security’s gain!

In his spare time he is a devoted family man, particularly following the arrival of his charming daughter Rebecca; and with the desire for self improvement uppermost in his mind he is now enrolled on a part time Law degree (LLB) with Birkbeck College, having recently passed the foundation course at the first attempt.
